Born in Kyoto in 1971, he studied photography in Nihon University College of Art in Tokyo. He is a freelance photographer, specializing in travel to Asia. His focus is on the region in the 1990s, especially developing countries and former communist states. He wants to shoot photographs that evoke the nostalgic memories of the past―a work which even local people stop to see.
Mr Nakanishi has photographed in various places, including China, Nepal, India, Mongolia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
In 1996 and 2000 he won “Asia-Tantan” in the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts Young Portfolio. He was accepted for APART GALLERY’s photo contest “Travel around the world” in 2015. His first solo exhibition was “Akaiwa” at Shinjuku Nikon Salon in January 2016.
