Thanks to a big price cut, Nikon D5500 maintained the top spot. Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II breaks into the top 5 for the first time

This month Nikon D5500 maintained the top spot thanks to a large price cut. Its 18-55mm lens kit was cheaper than the last month by 15% (JPY 78,980), and the price of double zoom kit fell by 12% (JPY 100,620). Its user-friendliness is spreading by word-of-mouth. And mothers are increasingly buying it as a family camera, too.

After almost one year since the launch, Sony’s α7II is finally at the second spot. Its body is small and lightweight, hence easy to use. It also accommodates a built-in image stabilizer, making it possible to use old lenses together with mount adapters.

Canon EOS Kiss X8i ranked the third place. It had not been popular since this summer because many people were instead buying EOS 8000D, its sister camera. But, thanks to a large price drop, it is becoming popular again.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II ranked the fourth place, which was launched this autumn. It is the only camera that employs a five-axis image stabilizer in entry-class mirrorless cameras. Its viewfinder is also popular because it uses an organic EL, providing a fine view.

Sony α6000 is in the fifth place, which is the same as the last month. Its AF system is good at subjects in motion. It is popular among women who go to theme parks.
