Photokina is the leading international trade fair for the entire photo, video and imaging branch. It will be held in September in Cologne. the organisers present a new concept and a new campaign for the show. Under the claim of ‘Imaging unlimited’, photokina should continue developing into a content and solution-oriented event. “photokina stands for the unlimited possibilities of imaging. Thanks to smartphones and tablets, new target groups of image enthusiasts are arising which we want to reach with the concept”, according to Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.

Photokina 2016 has set itself the aim of moving the boundaries and is opening up the event to new technologies and solutions. For the imaging branch this means themes like Smart Home functions for cameras, cloud services, apps, wearables, audio and video, but also augmented and virtual reality. These are themes, which encourage the young target group to occupy themselves with photography even beyond the options of a smartphone camera. In this way, photokina 2016 is also demonstrating state-of-the-art photo and video techniques again this year and is at the same time offering exciting opportunities to try these out directly on-site in the course of a whole series of new events. Below you can find an overview of the highlights in the run-up to and during the trade fair. photokina 2016 is offering more multimedia events and opportunities for interaction than ever before. In this way photokina is bringing all thematic worlds as well as all target groups of the imaging industry together under the umbrella “imaging unlimited”. Beyond this, from the summer onwards already numerous campaigns in Cologne and the surrounding region will arouse unlimited interest in photokina 2016 among photo and video enthusiasts.
