The largest photo trade fair in China focuses on wedding business

Venue of Photo & Imaging Shanghai 2016

Photo & Imaging Shanghai (P&I) was held from 21st July to 24th July 2016. China P&E is a famous Chinese camera show held in April in Beijing. But P&I in SHANGHAI is as popular for wedding photographers and bridal officials. Photo & Imaging Shanghai 2016 was held with 30th China wedding expo, China baby photo Expo 2016 at the same time and venue.

So it is seen as a trade fair for wedding photography. From this year P&I SHANGHAI took place in Shanghai New International Expo Center. The vast land looks as if it were a small airport with 17 halls arranged in triangle. Although the whole fair was taking place in nine halls, P&I used only one of them. But more than 200 companies, small and big, participated in the fair. It had over 80,000 visitors, making its scale as massive as Photokina, a German trade fair for cameras and images. In this year, there were 120,000 visitors.

Halls were divided according to three themes: dresses, make-ups and albums. Each was packed with visitors carrying catalogues and items they bought in big shopping bags. Products and information spread from here to across China. What a dynamic country. In 2016, P&I SHANGHAI will continue to provide the exhibitors with “the extensive and intensive market promotion”, covering the aspects of the new product presentation, comparison and release of photography contests, exhibition of excellent photos and media interview activities. It will also carry out the “wonderful concurrent activities”, and offer the audience with photographic technology lectures, as well as the zero distance shooting experience.

There were only three camera manufacturers: Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm. Booths displaying flashes and tripods were easy to notice, suggesting they were aimed at wedding photography studios. Most of them were, of course, domestic companies.

Photo & Imaging Shanghai 2017 will be held on 13rd 16th July 2017.
