The Leica T System has been improved while the company is offering a limited production run of 100 APO-SUMMICRON-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. in red anodised version
A couple of years ago the Leica T Camera System was born. As with other Leica products, it boasted “Made in Germany” partly because it was produced in collaboration with Audi Design. But like art it was never perfect. So it has made progress since then. Now the German camera manufacturer unveiled the Leica TL Camera System. It is faster, more usable and more flexible than the predecessor.
First, the built-in memory of the new system has been increased to 32GB, which is twice more than that of the predecessor. Also, the Leica TL involves an enhanced AF in AF-C mode. And it is more compatible with other camera systems of Leica, too. Besides, a new special app for the Leica TL is available on Android as well as iOS.
Like the Leica Q, titanium colour is added to the Leica TL. There is a difference between conventional black and red models and the new colour version. The edges of a top cover and a bottom plate of the latter are chamfered. That gives a soft feel and a slightly new look.
Gift idea for Christmas
Meanwhile, Leica is offering a limited production run of 100 APO-SUMMICRON-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. in red anodised version. It will be on sale from December. The so-called world’s sharpest standard lens in this colour might be the most exciting gift for Leica enthusiasts.
